FONTS

There are nine families of TrueType fonts included in LinguaType European 2000.

Dutch 801
Exotic 350 Light
Exotic 350 Bold
Gothic 821 Condensed
Humanist 777
Revue
Swiss 721
Univerisity Roman
Zapf Calligraphic 801
During the installation process LinguaType European 2000 will add these fonts to the system list of fonts.

In order to begin writing in Latvian select the Latvian (~) keyboard driver from the taskbar and from within your favourite word-processor choose one of the above listed fonts.

To obtain the diacritical letters, for example, a-macron, press and release the tilde key and then hit the "a" key. The same procedure applies for all of the remaining 12 Latvian diacritical letters.

Upper case a-macron is obtained by pressing and releasing the tilde key followed by holding down the Shift key and pressing the "a" key.

New font technologies included in Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT allow for the inclusion of several types of fonts (Western European, Eastern European, Baltic, Cyrillic and Turkish) within the one font. This feature allows you to use several languages within the one document and therefore complies with the Unicode standard.

All LinguaType European 2000 fonts have been designed by Gustavs A. Grinbergs in conjunction with well-known font foundry, Bitstream. Gustavs is a professional graphics designer in Riga and has devoted his life and professional career to the art of type.
